Owen update

Hi everyone, sorry I have been slow on the blog lately. We recently went to the Chiari Institute in Great Neck to meet with Dr. Rekate. After lots of ups and down over the past 6 months, it is clear to us that Owen will need to have surgery. We have thought a lot about this, and both Dave and I feel that waiting is no longer an option. Owen is experiencing some amount of pain each and every day, and that is just no way for an active kid to live.  Owen will have surgery in early June. He will be in the hospital for about a week. The surgery will take about 3-4 hours. Dr Rekate believes that Owen will recover quickly and that he will do great. He believes that Owen will be able to have a completely normal life with NO restrictions to his activity after he is healed from surgery. We are of course very nervous, but excited about putting this behind us. We ask for all of you to pray for our little man in the next few months.
